violence issues and to develop or implement best practice solutions
in the local community. - Provides local leadership for the family violence sector and the
community, advocating around priority issues and building capacity
around family violence. - Enable connections, knowledge sharing and collaborative

Our History
Established in 2006, Family Violence Regional Integration Committees (FVRICs) were established to improve the integration of services, playing a vital role in the transformation of Victorian service delivery and community responses to family violence. Since their inception FVRICs have played a system leadership role focused on increasing the safety of victim survivors and accountability of people using violence.
Who We Are
The Oven Murray Family Violence Partnership (OMFVP) is a regional governance structure that provides strategic leadership to drive effective responses to family violence across the local service system and support implementation of Victoria’s family violence reforms in the Ovens Murray region.
OMFVP is one of the 13 Family Violence Regional Integration Committees across Victoria. The OMFVP membership is made up of both service providers and other stakeholders that contribute to family violence service responses across the Ovens Murray region. Membership to the partnership is open to organisations working in the Local Government Areas of Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga.
The OMFVP is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and supported by a coordination position, the Principal Strategic Advisor. The Partnership is currently auspiced by the Centre Against Violence.
What We Do
The OMFVP collaborates to identify local, regional, and state-wide family violence issues and to develop or implement best practice solutions in the local community.
The OMFVP provides local leadership for the family violence sector and the community, advocating on priority issues and building capacity related to family violence. Enables connections, knowledge sharing, and collaborative approaches between specialist community, health, and universal services across the broad continuum from prevention through to recovery.
Partnership Approach
Regional integration governance structures have been underpinning the delivery of family violence reform for well over a decade. FVRICs play a key strategic leadership role in developing a more effective family violence service system. We do this by strengthening system integration and supporting the implementation of the Victorian Government’s family violence reforms.
As one of thirteen area-based cross sector committees representing government and non-government agencies, family violence services, children and family services, Victoria Police, justice and legal services, housing, community, and health services, the OMFVP provides leadership, advocacy, and specialist expertise to strengthen, integrate and improve the family violence system and help end family violence across the Ovens Murray region.
We do this by supporting workforces and building family violence literacy across different service sectors, and influencing and advocating for positive change.
Our work is guided by the Ovens Murray Family Violence Partnership Strategic Plan 2023-2026.
Partnership members work together under a common Statement of Purpose (the Partnership Agreement) and FVRIC Guidelines.
Governance Framework
The OMFVP is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and supported by a coordination position, the Principal Strategic Advisor. The OMFVP is currently auspiced by the Centre Against Violence.
All community, health, and government members are welcome to join the OMFVP, which utilises a tiered approach to governance and engagement.
