Together in Practice: A Collaborative Approach to Family Violence in Ovens Murray

Event description

This two-part training is open to all professionals in the Ovens Murray Region who respond to family violence. It is designed to support your understanding of your responsibilities under the MARAM Framework, with a focus on collaborative risk assessment and information sharing.

 

This is not a risk assessment training, but it forms an integral part of the MARAM suite of training for professionals. Participants will explore their role in the framework, strengthen regional connections, and apply learning to place based scenarios.

Training Overview:

  • Locating your role in the MARAM Framework
  • Structured professional judgement
  • Working with victim survivors and self assessment
  • Scaling risk assessments: from screening to comprehensive
  • Evidence based risk factors
  • Information sharing: FVISS, CISS, and shared language
  • Intersectionality in practice
  • Interactive activity: identifying risk factors
  • Discussion on protective factors

Shared risk, shared responses. Collaborative risk management and safety planning​

 

Training Overview:

  • Collaborative risk assessment and safety planning

  • Maintaining perpetrator visibility and accountability

  • Collaborative engagement and referral pathways

  • Best practice information sharing, centering victim survivor voice

  • Role clarity across services and agreed actions

  • Case study integration and small group activity

  • Worker wellbeing and professional judgement

Format:

Two-part training (must complete ‘Your role in the framework. Collaborative risk assessment and information sharing’ before ‘Shared Risk, shared responses. Risk management and safety planning’). 

Pre-Training Requirements:
All participants must complete the following before attending:

  1. Read the MARAM Foundation Knowledge Guide

  2. Watch the film: Helping End Family Violence – The Information Sharing Schemes and MARAM

  3. Watch the webinar: Introduction to Family Violence Response (60 minutes)
